What the record shows
Streeton painted the drought-bleached Yarra valley from the artists' camp at Eaglemont, east of Melbourne.
It was shown at the Royal Academy in 1891 and received an honourable mention at the Paris Salon in 1892.
The work remained in Britain for almost a century before returning to Australia in 1995, at the time the highest price paid for an Australian painting.
